The old adage goes: "Every system is perfectly designed to get the result that it does."  

This is why . . .

Your health is a reflection of your habits.

Your life is a reflection of your lifestyle. 

Tip: If you want to change, focus on the system, not the goal

Jesus demonstrated the spiritual disciplines through his body. Not just through the mind or soul, but by His body too.

 

For example:

  • He withdrew to isolated places to pray // He moved his body to a specific place to prepare himself
  • He fasted for 40 days // He withheld food from his body
  • He preached around Galilee and Judea // He walked by foot from city to city
  • He welcomed interruptions, rather than getting frustrated at them // He relied on the Spirit's power to remove stress & anxiety in his body
  • He did life with 12 close friends // He stayed in close proximity (for the most part) to other bodies
  • He healed the sick & cast out demons // He touched other people's bodies & healed them

Your spiritual life does not only pertain to your inner life. We have an embodied faith.
