Commitment vs Consistency, Building Muscle & Discerning Motivation

habit habit #3: move often perspective physical health scripture Feb 23, 2023

1)

Commitment will get you to the starting line.

Consistency will get you to the finish line.

2)

To build muscle, the body needs to maintain a positive nitrogen balance.

This means that the body is storing more protein than it is using it as fuel.

That being said, it is important to understand that a high-protein diet alone is not going to increase muscle.

Adequate protein intake with resistance training is needed to achieve more muscle mass.

3)

One mark of a truly healthy person is the ability to discern his/her motivation.

Example:

– Am I pursuing health to make my name great?

– Am I pursuing health so I can love others better?

There's only two options: to be motivated by the flesh vs to be motivated by the Spirit.

"The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace." (Romans 8)
