Mindful Eating, Increasing Trust & the Good Shepherd

habit #2: eat clean habit #5: decrease stress habit #6: cultivate community jesus physical health relational health scripture spiritual health Apr 06, 2023

1)

Here are a couple tips to increase mindful eating:

  • Eat more slowly. Don't rush your meals.

  • Chew thoroughly.

  • Eliminate distractions (i.e. turn off the TV, put down your phone)

  • Eat in silence.

  • Focus on how food makes you feel.

  • Stop eating when you're full.

  • Ask yourself why you're eating ... are you actually hungry?

2)

Trust works counterintuitively.

To get more, you give more.

3)

Jesus said, “I am the Good Shepherd.” (John 10)

A good shepherd is in control of his sheep. And the sheep surrender control (i.e. fully trust) to the shepherd.

Just like sheep, we are designed to surrender control (fully trust) to the Good Shepherd.

The more we do, the more peace we experience.
